THE FORESTS OF THE CASENTINO IN TUSCANY

The Casentino is a narrow valley between the Apennine ridge and the massif of the Pratomagno, two mountains covered with woods of beech-tree, fir, oak, chestnut tree. The hilly part of the Casentino and the valley floor flown by the Arno are mainly farmlands. All this brings about a constant change of colours in the landscape of the Casentino.
Therefore, this Tuscan area, thanks to its geographical configuration and its changeable colours offers us different landscape foreshortenings and unexpected aspects of the nature. The small villages and the medieval castles of the Tuscan Casentino blend perfectly in the landscape, or better, they set in it as precious stones.
The 30 pictures of this gallery will let you understand that it is worth visiting the Casentino even only for its landscape, but the Casentino is much more, the thousand photos of this web site will show it to you.
